Like clockwork, these articles and videos start appearing around December/January time, each promising the secret sauce to keep your website ahead of the curve. Neumorphism, glassmorphism, brutalism – somewhere in the world you just know there’s a designer already prepping for whatever the next -ism will be. Every time I see the predictions, I ask the same question: do your website visitors actually care about web design trends?

The answer? No. The average user doesn’t care about trendy gradients or 3D effects. Users care about clarity, speed, and ease of use. If they can’t find the ‘Buy Now’ button, it doesn’t matter how sexy your site is.

The only trend worth following in 2025? Your users. If you focus on their needs – how they navigate, what confuses them, what keeps them engaged – you’ll always be ahead of the curve. Because trends come and go, but a website that actually works for people? That never goes out of style.
