Reworking the script for Cornwall Youth Theatre
A practical website overhaul with young people in mind.
Cornwall Youth Theatre Company is a longstanding part of the creative scene in the South West, helping young people develop skills and confidence through performance. But their old website was failing the audition – outdated content, difficult to navigate, and not too appealing to the people it was meant to serve.
We tackled three key areas:
Structure & Navigation
The site had grown messy over time, but there was no need to start from scratch. A simple rework of the existing structure did the job – cutting back on unnecessary pages, merging duplicates, and making sure core information was easier to find.
Content Cleanup
Much of the content was either out of date or scattered in ways that made it hard to follow. We reorganised and rewrote key sections to improve clarity and flow – keeping the existing material, but making it easier to read and understand.
Design Refresh
We updated the look and feel with a younger audience in mind – brighter colours, better contrast, and a layout that feels more modern. No over-designing, just a cleaner, more confident presence that isn’t stuck in the past.
The result is a site that’s easier to use, easier to update, and more reflective of the professionalism and purpose behind Cornwall Youth Theatre Company.
